Our Transitional Living Philosophy in Action
True North Transitional Living is dedicated to inspiring positive change by providing transitional living for individuals experiencing homelessness. Our mission is rooted in compassion, innovation, and the unwavering belief that transformation begins with safe shelter and holistic case management.
The Mission That Drives Us
We offer safe, temporary housing to those in need, while walking alongside them on the path to lasting stability and a home of their own.
About Charlene McNew
Charlene McNew is the Vice President and co-founder of True North Transitional Living, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals experiencing homelessness find safe, temporary housing and a path toward long-term stability.
With a heart for service and a passion for community, Charlene helped establish True North Transitional Living to bridge the gap between immediate housing needs and sustainable, long-term solutions. Drawing on her many years of experience in the medical and behavioral health fields, she provides leadership to teams delivering vital services such as peer support, community outreach, and housing advocacy. She has also trained hundreds of staff members in evidence-based documentation practices.
Charlene’s leadership background includes serving as Director of Documentation and Billing, where her expertise helped recover hundreds of thousands of dollars for a previous employer. She has also collaborated with operational teams to manage behavioral health programs that empower individuals in recovery to achieve sobriety, restore dignity, and rebuild their lives.
Guided by compassion, integrity, and action, Charlene believes that every person deserves a place to call home — and that, together, communities can make that belief a reality.
